A Homage To The Classics
If you’re wondering if Zack Snyder’s Justice League will be seen on the Big Screen, fear not. Snyder, Himself, mentioned that it was always meant to be seen that way. When speaking to Dave The Film Junkee, Zack had this to say:
[Zack Snyder’s Justice League], for whatever it’s been, two and a half years, existed for me just on my computer. Black and White on my computer. […] And then someone would come over to the house and then I would go down to the theater. And if they wanted to see the movie I’d be like “Oh yeah, do you want to see my version of Justice League?” They’d be like, “Yeah, [let’s] check it out.”
And everyone would be like “Holy Shit! That’s insane.” But I honestly didn’t think it would see the light of day. I always thought it would be this anomaly that exists as it does. But I did enjoy that there were people out there that had a hankering [for the film].
He went on to elaborate:
The thing about [Zack Snyder’s Justice League] that’s interesting is the way I constructed the cut. It’s 6 Chapters. So it was always this chaptered concept where the first section says ‘Part 1’ and you have this little section. And then [it says] ‘Part 2’ and you have this other section. Then ‘Part 3’ and all the way [into] 6 Parts. Then an Epilogue.
So the structure of the movie always lends itself to this kind of [narrative]. But, I can’t wait for you to see [the film] in Imax because I think it’s going to play…it plays as this [big event]. You know, with a big intermission, you get the play…hopefully it will play in this Grand [operatic way]. My ideal version of the movie is the Black and White Imax. That to me is the most fan-centric, most pure, most Justice League experience. […] [Be]cause that’s how I’ve lived with the movie for 2 years. In Black and White.
So there you have it. Zack Snyder’s Justice League will be released in Imax. When and where is a question for another time. But if Zack is mentioning that it’ll be shown in Imax, we can take him at his word it’ll be shown that way. Check out the entire interview down below:
