There’s another Doom movie on its way and after bearing witness to the first trailer, the trend* of video game to movie adaptations being terrible continues.
Doom: Annihilation is going “straight to DVD” or in other words, straight in the bargain bin at your local superstore. For one, the reboot doesn’t have Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Big fail in my opinion.
The game is a classic, I spent many hours as a kid blowing up demons to smithereens and here in the trailer we at least see demon-like creatures. From what I remember, this new film looks very similar to the first, just without the budget, The Rock, Karl Urban or Rosamund Pike. What a cast the original had by the way.
Check out the monstrous trailer below:
Directed by Tony Giglio, best known for S.W.A.T Under Seige according to Wikipedia, the film stars Amy Manson, Dominic Mafham and Luke Allen-Gale.
Doom: Annihilation follows a group of space marines as they respond to a distress call from a base on a Martian moon, only to discover it’s been overrun by demonic creatures who threaten to create Hell on Earth. The film will be released later this year.
You know the films bad when even the game developers of Doom are having nothing to do with it.
We're not involved with the movie. https://t.co/Du3wHSHk44

* There are a few video game movies with pass marks like Rampage and Mortal Kombat, if you disagree take it up with The Rock or Robin Shou.
