Sylvester Stallone has joined the cast of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, the actor confirmed in a now-deleted Instagram post.
Stallone then posted an image of an article from Deadline announcing his casting in the film.
“Working with this incredible Director on this astounding project has made this an amazing year. I am a very lucky man to be surrounded by such talent.! #Warner Bros.”
Gunn also took to his social media to confirm Stallone’s involvement, with the two re-teaming after previously working together on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Always love working with my friend @officialslystallone & our work today on #TheSuicideSquad was no exception. Despite Sly being an iconic movie star, most people still don’t have any idea what an amazing actor this guy is. 🙌
No details were released on who Stallone might be playing, but speculation online suggests he may be voicing King Shark.
I think, as I’m sure others have guessed, Stallone is voicing King Shark.

Stallone must be the voice King Shark, I mean it’s a guess, but I’d dig it! pic.twitter.com/3roJesMlPe

Steve Agee done the mo-cap for King Shark, along with playing the role of John Economos, which he will reprise in HBO Max’s Peacemaker series. If Stallone is indeed voicing King Shark that’s a brilliant bit of casting.
Whilst nothing is official, it would definitely be a great fit. What do you think?
