2020 has been one of the weirdest years in my existence and it keeps getting weirder. THR reports Jamie Foxx is returning to the Spider-Man franchise, reprising the role of Electro, who he played in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which had Andrew Garfield as it’s web slinger.
This time around he’ll be starring alongside current Spidey star Tom Holland who took over the reigns when Sony rebooted the franchise and Marvel brokered a deal to introduce Spider-Man into the MCU.
It’s not known whether or not Foxx will be the same version of Electro, fans are running wild with speculation of a ‘Spidey-Verse‘, whilst it all sounds amazing, we’ll just need to wait on official confirmation on that front.
Foxx shared his excitement of returning and announced he wouldn’t be blue in this one, in a now deleted Instagram post (Marvel big wigs had obviously gotten to him):
“Tell Spidey let’s run it back!… super excited to part of the new Marvel Spider-Man new installment… Can t wait for y’all to check the new one. And I won’t be blue in this one!! But a thousand percent badass!!! (sic)”
Foxx is a fantastic actor and I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with the character this time around.
