‘Scream 5’ Brings Back Original Trio & Adds A Shit-ton Of Potential New Victims To It’s Cast

It’s been nine-years since the last Scream film was released, and when it comes to the horror genre, there’s something’s that just won’t die. The Scream franchise being one of them.

Scream 5 will see the return of the OG’s, Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, David Arquette as Sheriff Dwight “Dewey” Riley and Courtney Cox as Gale Weathers-Riley.

Marley Shelton reprises her role as Deputy Judy Hicks from Scream 4. Joining them are a whole list of potential new victims for ghost face, or perhaps even the killer themself. The newcomers are Dylan Minnette (13 Reasons Why), Mason Gooding (Booksmart), Mikey Madison (Once Upon A Time Hollywood), Kyle Gallner (Outsiders), Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers), Jack Quaid (The Boys), Melissa Barrera (Vida) and Jenna Ortega (The Babysitter: Killer Queen).

Not much is known about the plot, but like the other films before it, there will be a costumed killer chasing victims around town.

Scream 5 will be written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, and directed by duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from filmmaking group Radio Silence. Scream creator Kevin Williamson will executive produce. The film will release January 14, 2022.
