Uncharted just can’t hold a director down. The long-awaited video game adaptation has lost six directors, yes that’s right, six. Now Sony are in talks with Ruben Fleischer (Venom), director number seven to replace Travis Knight.

According to Deadline, Fleischer is at the top of the studios list to direct the film, with Sony wanting camera’s to begin rolling before star Tom Holland begins filming the next Spider-Man film.

Holland and Mark Wahlberg are still attached to the project.

The film has suffered setback after setback since it began development in 2008. Here’s the list of directors the film has lost:

  • David O. Russell
  • Neil Burger
  • Seth Gordon
  • Shawn Levy
  • Daniel Trachtenberg
  • Travis Knight

Let’s hope Fleischer can finally be the man to break this curse.
