Oscar Isaac To Play Solid Snake In Sony’s ‘Metal Gear Solid’ Film

Oscar Isaac, who starred as Poe Dameron in the latest Star Wars trilogy will play Solid Snake in Sony’s Metal Gear Solid adaptation.

According to Deadline, the film based on the popular video game franchise has taken a major step forward with the Isaac’s casting.

Kong: Skull Island filmmaker Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who’s been attached to the project since 2014, will direct from a script is written by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World). Avi Arad is onboard to produce.

Vogt-Robets took to Twitter to seemingly confirm Isaac’s casting.

Metal Gear Solid was created by Hideo Kojima and launched on the PlayStation in the late 90’s. Players controlled Solid Snake, a soldier who infiltrates a nuclear weapons facility to neutralize the terrorist threat from FOXHOUND, a renegade special forces unit. Snake must liberate hostages and stop the terrorists from launching a nuclear strike.

Isaac was recently cast as Marvel’s Moon Knight, and with production on the series about to begin in the near future, it’s reported that it’s unknown when filming will begin on Metal Gear Solid due to Isaac’s busy schedule.
