X-Men star Nicholas Hoult has joined the cast of Mission: Impossible 7 & 8. The English actors involvement was revealed by director Christopher McQuarrie on Instagram.
“Say, @NicholasHoult care to raise a little hell?” McQuarrie captioned his post. With Hoult replying “Love to. Why stop at a little?”
According to THR sources, Hoult will play the film’s villain.
Now, I’m just spitballing here, but what if he’s playing the younger brother of Henry Cavill’s August Walker? Perhaps he’s an Apostle too and is seeking revenge against Hunt and the IMF. There’s so many possibilities. Whoever he plays, Hoult is a welcome addition to the long running franchise.
Hoult joins Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham and Pom Klementieff. There’s no confirmation if franchise veterans Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames will return. Surely they’ll be there in some capacity.
Mission: Impossible 7 will hit screens July 23, 2021, while the Mission: Impossible 8 will be released on August 5, 2022.
