Executive Producer/ShowRunner, Lauren S. Hissrich, took to Twitter and announced the first season of the much anticipated streaming series “The Witcher” has wrapped. The show, starring Henry Cavill as Gwynnbleid, is currently slated to be released on Netflix as part of their fall line up later this year.
That’s a wrap on season one! I have enough gray hair to play Geralt now, but it’s been the best year of my life. So grateful to the writers, the cast, and the exceptional crew who worked their asses off to make the Continent come to life. Now, onto… pic.twitter.com/BBuPYco1ER

The Witcher is based on the Acclaimed 8-Book Series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski.
“The series centers around Geralt of Rivia (Cavill), aka Gwynnbleid. A genetically enhanced man with special powers trained to slay monsters. He struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove they’re more wicked than beasts. Destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress and a young princess with a dangerous secret. The three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.”
Henry Cavill was as festive and in true Henry fashion as always. He took the time to give his thanks to the people in his close circle for all the hard work during the filming of the first season. The actor delivered the heartwarming message to the cast and crew while the makeup crew was in the process of removing his wig/makeup prosthesis. (see below)

Season 1 of The Witcher has finally come to an end. And although I'm pulling a face here it has been an incredible journey! The cast and crew worked tirelessly throughout, everyone pitched in and brought their A game to set and I couldn't be more proud of you all. Speaking of my immediate team. Jacqui, Ailbhe and Leah are consummate professionals who worked extraordinary hours to bring the Witcher to life, they were non stop improving adjusting and evolving Geralt throughout. Thank you ladies for making this journey a good one. All of those 3 am wake ups were worth it! #GeraltofRivia #TheWitcher #Season1
