Who will be Shang-Chi in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? The studio has been working hard on bringing its first Asian superhero to the big screen and they have now turned their attention to find the perfect actor to play Shang-Chi.

According to The Hashtag Show, the studio is reportedly keen in meeting with Power Rangers and Aquaman actor Ludi Lin. He is one of names Marvel have their eye on, and there is no indication he is frontrunner for the role.

Another name who may also get a sit down with the big wigs at Marvel is 13 Reasons Why and Shazam actor Ross Butler.

Ross Butler starred as the older Eugene Choi in DC’s Shazam

Destin Daniel Cretton, the director behind Short Term 12 will helm Shang-Chi. With Chinese-American screenwriter Dave Callaham penning the screenplay.

In addition to that, Marvel are hoping to meet with Hong Kong cinema icon, Donnie Yen for an unspecified role, described as a “wise, older statesman“, could he perhaps be the real Mandarin? Fans believe he could be, but we shall wait for something more concrete. Yen’s inclusion would be huge for the film and no doubt please fans around the world.
