Since new life was breathed into the beloved franchise in 2015, only Goldblum has made a small cameo in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, whilst both Dern and Neill have been absent since 2001’s Jurassic Park III, which starred Neill with Dern making a cameo.
The plot of Jurassic World 3 is being kept under wraps, Trevorrow, who returns to the directors chair after sitting out Fallen Kingdom will co-write the script with Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim Uprising). At the end of Fallen Kingdom the dinosaurs were released into the wild, so the sequel will deal with the aftermath of the events, and there’s no better people to help Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard characters with the fallout than the three franchise OG’s who started it all.
Trevorrow got fans excited with the perfect tease about the next dinosaur outing with a recent short film called Battle at Big Rock which explored the Neo-Jurassic Age a year after the events of the last film, showing a family try to survive in this dangerous new world. Check it out below:
Jurassic World 3 is due to be released on June 11th, 2021.
