The official James Bond YouTube channel today released first look at Bond 25 with behind the scenes footage of the film.
James Bond 007 on YouTube released “On Set with Bond 25: Jamaica“, a minute-long look the shooting of sections of the movie.
The clip promises helicopters, beautiful sunsets and an explosion at the end. We wouldn’t expect anything less!
We see Bond (Daniel Craig) sneaking around outside a beach residence carrying what looks like a harpoon gun. Bond also gets to walk around through smoke in slow motion – effortlessly cool.
The photography looks excellent and the clip of full of local atmosphere and colour in street markets and nightclubs. The images and music together are quite reminiscent of Bacardi ads though. But what an incredible contemporary style for what will be Craig’s last Bond.
The setting is apt as Bond writer Ian Fleming lived and wrote in Jamaica (at his home “Goldeneye”), and the little we know of the story is that Bond is not on active service, getting away from it all before things kick-off. Is that why we see Felix Leiter in the Jamaican bar, will he pull Bond back into the game? We’ll have to wait and see.
As it is behind the scenes we see cameras attached to jeeps and dolly shots, as well as glimpses of Cary Fukunaga, Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter) and Lashana Lynch (Noni).
After the much-publicised change of director, Craig’s ankle injury, and explosive damage at Pinewood, it’s great to finally get a tease of what is to come.
The film also features many returning actors: Ralph Fiennes (M), Lea Seydoux (Dr. Swann), Naomi Harris (Moneypenny), Ben Whishaw (Q), Rory Kinnear, (Tanner). The as yet unnamed villain will be played by Rami Malek.
Bond fans across the world must now be counting the days until Bond 25 is released in April 2020.
