Jake Gyllenhaal Shoots Down ‘Batman’ Casting Rumours

Published

With Ben Affleck’s future still uncertain as Batman, rumours surfaced last year that Matt Reeves was meeting with actors to take over the role of the Dark Knight.

One of the names mentioned to have met with Reeves was Oscar nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal, who in a recent interview shot down the rumours that he was going to take over the cape and cowl.

Speaking with CNA Lifestyle Gyllenhaal was asked if he was going to be the next Batman, to which he responded:

“Wow, that’s a very difficult question. The answer to that question is ‘no’”

If Affleck does indeed step away, Gyllenhaal would definitely fit the bill to replace the Oscar winner. However, my hope is Ben stays and helps build the Batfamily on the big screen.

What do you think of Gyllenhaal’s comments?
