‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Michelle Yeoh Joins Cast Of Avatar Sequels

Michelle Yeoh has joined the cast of James Cameron’s long-awaited Avatar sequels.

Yeoh will play a major role in the Avatar sequels as scientist Dr. Karina Mogue. The announcement was made on the official Avatar social media accounts.

Michelle has always created unique and memorable characters. I look forward to working with her to do the same thing on the Avatar sequels,” said director James Cameron.

The talented actress has graced screens for over thirty years, most notably for her roles in Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 1 & 2, and Rob Marshall’s Memoirs Of A Geisha. Yeoh can most recently be seen starring in Crazy Rich Asians and CBS Star Trek: Discovery.

Avatar released in 2009, and still holds the title for the highest grossing movie of all time with $2.788 billion at the global box office. The sequel will see the return of Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver, they’ll be joined by franchise newcomers Kate Winslet, Edie Falco, Oona Chaplin and Vin Diesel.

Avatar 2 will hits screens December 18, 2020, with Avatar 3 arriving the following year.
