‘Bond 25’: Rami Malek In Talks To Play Villain; Billy Magnussen Eyed For CIA Role

You are only* a Pharaoh role, a hit TV show and an Oscar-winning performance as Freddie Mercury away from becoming the next James Bond villain.

That’s how far Rami Malek has come in the last ten years, and now, according to Collider, Malek is in final negotiations to star alongside Daniel Craig’s 007 in the yet untitled 25th James Bond film.

There was a few issues regarding Malek’s involvement initially as his shooting schedule for Mr. Robot would conflict with Bond 25 filming. However, his team managed to work things out.

Whilst it’s not officially confirmed, the deal is close, the last delay in negotiations was the studio and Malek’s reps holding out to see if he’d win the best actor gong at the Oscars, which he did, now he can request a king’s ransom for his part.

Malek to me, seems like an outside the box choice as a Bond villain — and I’m fully behind this. He’s quirky and he’s never really been a baddie, so it will be a nice change. Hopefully he’s an absolute b******* and pushes Bond to his limits. If my mind serves me right, he’ll be the youngest villain to go up against Craig’s Bond. Whilst no character details have been revealed yet, it is rumoured the villain is to be a blind man.

Billy Magnussen

Also being eyed to join the cast is Billy Magnussen, who worked alongside Bond 25 director Cary Joji Fukunaga‘s on Maniac. According to Variety Magnussen is being looked at for the role of a CIA operative that crosses path with Bond. Sounds easy enough, I’d prefer they brought back Jeffery Wright as Felix Leiter. He was cool.
